Calling all College Baseball Fans! Ice Cream Series Team Flavors are Here!

In case you didn’t know Omaha, Nebraska is home to many exciting things…eCreamery Ice Cream & Gelato, Butterbrickle Ice Cream, Warren Buffett and of course, the College World Series of Baseball!

Since 2008, we have welcomed baseball fans to Omaha with a special flavor named in honor of the eight teams in the series. (Of course, being very respectful of NCAA laws against using any trademarked team names or mascots!) Fans can stop in eCreamery at 50th & Underwood in Dundee to enjoy a team flavor, served as a sundae or pick up a commemorative flavor pint. But, when the team is eliminated from the CWS tournament, the team flavor is also eliminated from our Ice Cream Series! Flavor up!

The team with the most “votes” or purchases over the week of the College World Series wins the coveted glory and prestige of our Ice Cream Series. So come in and support your team by devouring some delicious ice cream! We keep a plaque in the store of all Series Champions. Come in and take a look — and a taste! Every year we’re packed with fans and entire teams stopping in to enjoy in the delicious fun!

Since 2008, ESPN CWS Announcers Mike, Orel and Erin Andrews have also looked forward to their annual personal flavor creations. In previous years they have gave grand slam reviews to their custom flavors on air as they announce the College World Series games. “Mike’s Breakfast of Champions” and “Erin’s Energy Aid” were reported as huge hits – except the peanuts in 2009 that Erin reported as a “no-no” for tv announcers with the risk to your on air smile.

2010 was the first year the Winner of the College World Series baseball championship did not also sweep the Ice Cream series. eCreamery originally announced the flavor, “Ribbit Rush” for the TCU Frogs. However, at the request of the TCU Alumni Association and fans, the flavor name, “Ribbit Rush” was changed to “Super Frog Food” as they explained, “HornFrogs don’t actually ribbit.” eCreamery was happy to change the name and apologized to TCU fans for the amphibian mix-up. The response to the new flavor was so overwhelming they took home the win for the 2010 series.

2008 – “Fresno Fuel” 2009 – “Lick “em LSU” 2010 – “Super Frog Food” (formerly known as Ribbit Rush)

Here is our 2011 Line Up. Yes, you can ship them home to fans who weren’t able to join us in Omaha! $59 for 4 team pints of your choice or $99.99 for all 8 pints. (shipping on dry ice included)
